Assessment

We employ a variety of teaching methods, but a particular emphasis is placed on student participation and interaction. In addition, we encourage students to make connections between key ideas studied in different modules. This ensures progression in students’ thinking and understanding throughout the degree scheme. Every student is allocated a personal tutor whose role it is to support students’ progress and to help and advise with non-academic matters. Students are encouraged to set, implement and evaluate targets to improve their learning and development. At Level 1, personal tutors also hold seminars on topics such as study skills and writing assignments. Modules are assessed using a range of innovative methods including written assignments, reflective reports, examination scenarios and seminar papers. This degree scheme is also suitable for part-time study.
