New students can collect their new University ID card in the Library after succesfully enrolling at Swansea. Before arriving at the University, Freshers need to send a recent passport photograph with their student number and name written on the back to the following address:
Administrative Computing Unit,
Singleton Abbey,
Singleton Park,
Swansea, SA2 8PP.
Your card can be used to borrow books from the University's Libraries and as a photocopy/print card. There are machines in the library to enable you to top up your balance. If you lose your University card, you should report the loss immediately at any Library Information Centre issue desk, so that they can prevent any unauthorised use of your card. They will also let you know if the card has been returned to them and if necessary issue a replacement card.
Your Student ID card also entitles you to discounts across campus including a reduced ticket prices for all performing arts/cinema events at the Taliesin theatre on campus. You can also claim a discount by producing your card at a variety of retail outlets and entertainment venues in Swansea.
Your National Union of Students (NUS) and student discount card is
also available from the Students’ Union and entitles you to further
discounts at a variety of retail outlets and entertainment venues in
Swansea. However, it is not a valid form of student ID and does not
allow you to use the student facilities on campus.
