The Willis Research Network is the research and development arm of the Willis Group, the world's third largest international risk and insurance brokers, based in the City of London.
The Network has partnerships with many of the world's leading universities, including Cambridge, Imperial College and Bristol University in the UK, US institutions such as Princeton and Colorado, and the National University of Singapore.
Most of these collaborations involve scientific research modelling the effects of climate change and earthquakes on the assessment and pricing of insurance risks throughout the world.
Vineet, who obtained a distinction in his MBA from Swansea University, is examining the link between reinsurance and the cost of capital in the UK's property-liability insurance industry. His research is being supervised by Professors Mike Adams and Dylan Thomas in the School of Business and Economics.
Vineet will also spend time working from Willis' headquarters in the City of London. He is the University's second recipient of the Willis Doctoral Fellowship: Ms Joy Jia was awarded the Fellowship last year.
Professor Mike Adams is Vineet's principal supervisor in the School of Business and Economics at Swansea University. He said: "We are delighted that an international global player in the insurance industry has again chosen to support the doctoral research of one of our top students. I believe that the connection between the School of Business and Economics, other departments at Swansea University and the Willis Research Network will continue to flourish in the future."
