Staff & Student Resources

The Library & Information Service (LIS) offer IT Awareness & Training resources for Swansea University staff and students.  Currently the following facilities are available:

  •  Office 2007 Online Training Resources

There are radical differences between Office 2007 and earlier versions such as Office XP/2003.   Please click for  Online Training for Office 2007 for resources to help you make the transition.

  • Office 2007 Training Manuals

There are many different methods of upgrading IT skills, some people prefer interactive multimedia (see Online Training above) while others prefer using a manual based approach.   Please click for an Office 2007 Training Manual approach.

  • ICT Training Manuals

Software application manuals which can be downloaded.  Please check the regularily updated list of titles.

  • ICT Guides

For help in using the Open access computers have a look at the IT Guides.   It is essential that you have security software on you home pc for further information click for a list of available ICT Guides .

 

  • Free Online Learning Resources

A web search can reveal organisations which provide free online learning for example;

    • ALISON -  online IT courses for FREE but users are required to register.  For a list of courses offered, to register and for further information visit the Alison website.
    • TONIC - A free easy-to-understand, practical guide to using the Internet produced by Netskills, although free, users have to register.  For further information and to register visit the TONIC webpages.
